Saltmarch Media's Business Technology Summit 2008 was inaugurated in Bengaluru on Tuesday. The two day summit has participation from over 600 professionals: decision makers, analysts, product managers, architects, engineers, project managers, designers, developers, programmers, entreprenuers, VC, marketers and business strategists among others.

The first edition of the annual summit [Business Technology Summit] is being attended by IT practitioners and business leaders from across the world. Manoj Saxena, Vice President, Global Solutions and Assets, IBM, said that companies were finding it more and more difficult to cope with legacy issues that arose from software and hardware that had been accumulated over the years.

Saltmarch Media's Business Technology Summit 2008 which saw 600 professionals from top companies converge, was inaugurated by Minister for Science and Technology, Anand Asnotikar, at the NIMHANS Convention Center on Tuesday. Speaking at the inaugural session of the summit Asnotikar said, "I am happy to note that companies such as IBM and Microsoft are taking the leadership role in promoting this ecosystem in India. I welcome all the other information technology companies to come forward and support the growth of this ecosystem and community..."
